Random #57

Hey Sis…

Its Friday!! My week has been full of sniffles and sneezes. Not fun! I’m looking forward to some rest and refreshing. I’m also attending Women Creating Wealth & Impact conference. Really pumped about that!

In between all of that, I do plan to partake in some self maintenance. These toes could use some attention, as well as my eyebrows. Ironically enough, a memory showed up on my Facebook page about eyebrows and I thought I’d share the chuckle…

Years ago I started Vee’s Book of Randoms. I am random by nature, so a conversation with me may take you all over the world and back by the time we say goodbye. So I started to write out my random musings for social media’s entertainment.

Here is Random #57

The first time I got my brows threaded was an experience. They lean you back in a chair, which leaves you pretty much at their mercy. The lady’s perfume stunk up my whole face. They measure out thread, much longer than I would’ve guessed, and lean in for the kill. The ironic part is that they ask you to hold parts of your face, creating a taut surface. In other words, the make you a participant in your own demise. The pain was INCREDIBLE!! I swung on her. She must’ve been expecting that reaction because she jumped back. “You’re going to have to be still” she admonished. I couldn’t see her face because the pain had left me blind and a little deaf in my left ear. I leaned back in the chair and braced the arms of the chair (much like I did the hospital bed when I was in labor….almost identical pain, different area). Me and stinky perfume, we had it out but we got through it. I thought I was done. My breathing returned to normal and I allowed my eye to squint open and the tears freely flowed. Then this heffa came back with more thread!! Had she not gotten enough blood?! I tried to shrink in the chair…MELT into the chair. I cowered in the corner of the chair, but she overpowered me. She bullied me with that thread. TO GET MY UNIBROW!! I was highly offended. I didn’t even know that I had a unibrow! We had to go through the whole process again….I made my next appointment for a week from Thursday…

HA!! I got a good laugh out of that. I hope you did, too! It’s funny ‘cuz it’s true. Pain is beauty, they say….

Stay in your JOY…
